Andrew's TV appearances include ?BBC Saturday Kitchen?, ?Ainsley?s Gourmet Express? and ?Yes Chef?. He also appears on radio frequently airing his views on food related issues. He brings with him experience, authority and a passion for creating excellent cuisine.
Cuisine ? Inspired Eating
Andrew Turner is one of London?s most well-established and respected chefs and was one of the first to introduce the ever popular ?grazing menu concept?. His arrival at The Landau at The Langham will inject even further life into the west end?s dining scene, allowing diners to sample from five, six, seven or eight course grazing dishes. Andrew describes his cooking as having a contemporary European style which he complements with some British Isles specialties, "a breaking down of classic food followed by a reconstruction of those same ingredients, but in a contemporary style."
Zack Saghir ? Head Sommelier
Working alongside Franco at The Savoy Grill as Head Sommelier, Zack?s pedigree training (27 years at The Savoy Grill and a spell at Browns Hotel in Mayfair) makes him a true deliverer of the ultimate wine service and experience. Zack Saghir is highly esteemed for his exceptional knowledge on trends and wine pairing. Having worked in 5-star establishments all his life, Zack s warm personality, his knowledge and passion, encourages guests to try new wines to enhance their overall dining experience. He has been working with John Atkinson, MA on the list which will set The Landau apart.
Wine Philosophy ? Effortless Elegance
Wines and Champagnes have been meticulously selected by John Atkinson, Master of Wine. The list is divided into regions, and includes descriptions and testimonials from some of the UK?s top suppliers along with some extremely fine wines unique to The Landau.
Diners will be able to browse over 1,390 wines and Champagnes displayed in the wine corridor. The atmospherically lit vaulted corridor, paved in limestone and lined with exquisite glass-fronted wine cabinets, evokes the rarefied air of an oenological treasure trove ? the wine cellar of a connoisseur. ?The wine corridor feels like the cosy interior of a traditional St. James?s wine merchant, and the idea was to create a list that makes really good reading, almost like a fine independent wine merchant?s list. We wanted it to have plenty of substance - and a twist of humour as well,? John explains.
Franco Becci ? Restaurant Manager
Franco Becci joins The Landau from Browns Hotel, where in 2005, he re-opened The Grill. Becci is an old style professional, with 20 years experience at The Grill at The Savoy. Working alongside the infamous Angelo Maresco, they were famed for being able to recognise hundreds of regular diners and remembering their individual preferences and favourite tables.

Layers of Style
Stunning design of interiors and cuisine are only a broad description of what The Landau is all about. In fact, there are several layers of style, going into the smallest details. David Collins Studio - Interior Design
The Landau has been designed by David Collins Studio who were also responsible for the brilliant interiors of Artesian, The Langham?s deeply glamorous cocktail bar. The feel in both The Landau and Artesian is contemporary Oriental, with details such as bespoke antique brass chandeliers and refined silk Chinoiserie screens separating two private dining booths.
The Landau
Guests will be given their first hint of the dining experience to come as they pass through the new Wine Corridor ? an atmospherically-lit hallway connecting the entrance lobby to the dining room. Here David Collins Studio have created a theatrical display for the restaurant?s extensive world class wine collection. This vaulted passageway paved in limestone and lined with exquisite glass-fronted wine cabinets evokes the rarefied air of an oenological treasure trove ? there is no doubt this is the wine cellar of a connoisseur.
David Collins Studio has transformed the existing restaurant into a graceful lozenge-shape by dramatically restructuring the internal architecture. The ceiling height has been reduced to create elegant dining proportions and the sweeping arc of the original window bay is replicated with a new curved opposite wall, while banquette seating integrated at both ends enhances the sense of harmony and order.
Brushed gilded timber wall panelling and a trio of bespoke antique brass chandeliers, bearing lanterns inspired by Chinese bells, complement the inherent grandeur of the room. Subtle mid-level lighting, integrated into the rear of the banquettes imbues the space with a shimmering, golden light. Contemporary Orientalism resonates in details such as the refined silk Chinoiserie screens integrated into the central banquette seating. Custom-designed dining chairs upholstered in embossed leathers in a palette of pale gold, jade green and pastel blue lend a fresh, contemporary feel.
