From the blowzy pale-pink damask roses on the table to the linen and china, everything is a feast for the eyes. But the really good news is that the kitchen, after a period of uncertainty, has found its feet, with a confident, Modern British cuisine. Sweet and smiling service seems to anticipate your wishes, and the set lunch is something of a steal.
